Mt Wood Complex
At the sensitively restored Mount Wood Homestead Complex visitors can experience an unusually complete and representative sample of the elements of pastoral operations over a 100 year period in the far north-west of NSW at one site. It resides within Sturt National Park, which encompasses the Australian Outback experience in one place.
Testimonial: "Great personal experiences are made of places and people like here at Mount Wood. Good luck with caring for this national park and unique homestead where ordinary city people can have a wonderful adventure and bring home new perspectives about Australia. Hope to be back soon" Laura Veltman and Family

Things to Do:
The huge Sturt National Park offers visitors to Mount Wood the essential essence of the outback, from sand dunes to open gibber plains separated by the jump-up country. There are several self drive tours across the park and walking tracks in different locations usually starting at the 4 campgrounds. The visitor centre in Tibooburra and adjacent Courthouse Museum exhibit interesting displays about the geology, natural and cultural heritage of the region. Bird and other wildlife watching, star gazing and photography are favourites amongst the visitors. Ranger guided Discovery Tours for groups can be organised.
