The Imperial Fine Accommodation was purchased in February 2005 by the husband and wife team of Bill Balding and Cathy Dyer. Both Bill and Cathy took transfers to work with the Area Health Service in Broken Hill. Bill, who headed up the Public Health Unit, planned a 12 month transfer, but now, 10 years later they call Broken Hill home. Bill is The Imperial's manager, host and cook (and still runs a small Public Health consultancy) while Cathy works for the Aboriginal Medical Service. They have 3 primary aged children, Matilda (Tilly), Aurora (Rory) and Noah.

imperialBed and BreakfastGuest Rooms: Six well appointed, en-suite guest bedrooms, featuring queen-size beds, wireless internet access, telephone, television, reverse cycle heating/air-conditioning, bath robes, DVD player, clock/radio, hair dryer, desk, easy chairs and table, closet and bar fridge. Rooms are furnished with antique and period pieces that individualise each room and guests have access to the modern guest kitchen, lounge, full size billiard table in the old 'front bar' and a walled courtyard with heated pool.

Rates from $180 per night, including provisions for a continental and cooked breakfast.

Bed and BreakfastBed and Breakfast2/3 bedroom Apartment: The Imperial now has a newly renovated apartment suitable for family groups, friends travelling together or for extended stays. The two bedroom apartment has a queen bedroom and a double bedroom, bathroom, lounge room, dining area and kitchenette. Opening directly onto the iconic veranda that wraps around the building, the 3 bedroom option provides an additional queen en suite room. The apartment also includes some games to occupy the children including a play station.

Newly renovated 2 bedroom cottage conveniently located close to the city centre. Air conditioned, modern kitchen, lounge room and BBQ area. Sleeps up to 6 (using the sofa bed). Your choice of either a self contained or fully serviced with breakfast provisions. Ideal fro small groups, families and longer stays. Min 2 night stay."

Getting Here:

By car, Broken Hill is 1,116km from Sydney, 842km from Melbourne, 1,458km from Brisbane and 511km from Adelaide.

Broken Hill is well serviced by Plane ( Regional Express) and Train (Countrylink and the Indian Pacific).

Once you hit town, The Imperial is north along Oxide Street, three blocks north of the railway line and two blocks from Broken Hill's main shopping strip, Argent Street.
