Testimonial:
"Just a note to thank you both for your typical country hospitality during our all too brief stay with you last Saturday.  June and I love the quiet and solitude that country life provides and we hope that we have the opportunity to return for a longer stay.  As we said on Sunday, this was the perfect start to our holiday...  "

Best wishes

Phillip

In 2000, Beverley & Richard moved from suburbia to take up rural life full time.  After some renovation work, they moved into the original cottage and live there today.
They have many interesting anecdotes to tell about this unique location.

Caloola was aquired in the 1930s and Beverley is a third generation member of the family on Caloola.  Many of the original structures built before and during the 1950s wool boom still exist in good condition.

We offer you the opportunity to have a corner of the outback to yourself.

Things to Do
things to do

Events here are pretty much governed by nature and sheep /cattle requirements, which mean that each day is different, involving all the usual tasks involved in running an outback property, but always interesting. Enjoy a peaceful walk with a chance to see some of the native wildlife.  There are many opportunities for artists and photographers, particularly along the river.

Lightning Ridge opal fields are an easy one hour drive from here.

As a guest, the days can be as peaceful or as eventful as you wish.
