Bokhara Hutz
Goodooga Rd 35km Nth Brewarrina New South Wales Australia 2839
Graham and Cathy Finlayson, along with their daughter Harriet, have a dream to take their land and business to a point beyond just sustainability and drought proofing.
After purchasing Bokhara Plains in 1999, and immediately faced with the daunting onset of the “biggest drought in one hundred years”, they embarked on an ambitious project to diversify into the hospitality industry & tourism, and a plan to regenerate the landscape for future generations of owners and guests to also enjoy.
This positive enthusiasm, passion and dedication to this philosophy of family friendly farming has seen them win the NSW Young Farmer of the Year Award, a Regional Business Award & a Nuffield Scholarship to study abroad during 2008.

Things to Do:
Although Brewarrina has historically been one of the major “Merino sheep breeding” areas of the country and that enterprise dominated the district, now there is much more diversity throughout the rural area, with exotic meat sheep, cattle grazing, cropping as well as hunting, fishing and tourism boosting the local economy.
Along with having the best “waterhole” along the entire length of the Barwon /Darling River system for your enjoyment, Brewarrina also is home to one of the most significant Aboriginal structures in Australia and possibly the oldest manmade structure on the planet being the 40,000 year old rock fish traps, situated conveniently near the middle of town.
